Ryan, the founder of Aon Corporation. It connects independent retail agents with excess and surplus (E&S) and specialty insurance markets through two service lines: wholesale brokerage, and underwriting management units (MGUs) that design and administer specialty programs for carriers. Ryan Specialty went public on the NYSE in 2021 and is one of the largest specialty insurance distributors in the U.S. It does not bear insurance risk itself; policies are underwritten by its carrier partners.
