About Foremost
Foremost Insurance Group was founded in 1952 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where it remains headquartered, and wrote what is considered the insurance industry's first dedicated mobile home policy. Its early research helped shape mandatory mobile-home tie-down laws and federal manufactured-housing building codes. Farmers Insurance Exchanges acquired Foremost in 2000, and it now operates as part of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies while continuing to specialize in manufactured and mobile home coverage, along with vacant home, seasonal home, and landlord property lines, sold through independent agents.
